Review – I have to admit that LifeProof has a great brand name, as long as they can continue to manufacture products that fit the name and protect the equipment like them. This time, we will use MagSafe for iPhone 13 Pro to take a look at their See protective case.

What is it?

The Lifeproof See case is a MagSafe compatible case, made of 45% recycled plastic, and can be used in a variety of iPhones and several variants of the Samsung Galaxy S21.

What’s in the box?

  • Lifeproof See Case with MagSafe

Design and features

Lifeproof See Case with MagSafe has all the core features you might be looking for. Comprehensive side protection, including button cover and peripheral glass protection, if you choose to run a glass screen protector, its height is sufficient. The front half of the case is a flexible grip material that makes See very easy to hold.

There are enough cutouts for the bottom speaker, microphone, charging port, and side mute switch.

There is a nice high lip around the camera array to ensure that they won’t get scratched when you put the phone on the back, which is a smooth hard plastic with a very slight texture.

MagSafe compatible magnets are placed correctly inside.

The Lifeproof brand logo is cleanly placed next to the power button, and all buttons are marked in contrasting colors, including the “Anchors Away” (gray/orange) color I received in 3 of the 4 colors.

Only the black option is completely invisible. This is what the other 3 options look like.

set up

Step 1: Push the phone into place.
Step 2: Make sure your mute switch is still in the position you want.
The third step: do your business.

Performance

LifeProof’s See case with MagSafe can solve almost all problems. If you need it, it is very easy to install and remove. All corners and edges have comfortable shapes, which are very suitable for hand use. These buttons are easy to find and use without looking for the tactile response you like. The mute switch access is very good even for larger fingers, and the charging port opening is large enough to handle most oversized cable ends.

The design lines surrounding both sides of the two materials are a nice detail. In addition to visibly breaking the material during production, it also adds a cool look and helps make the case look thinner.

If your phone drops, it will definitely survive. See has passed a 2m drop test, which is twice the MIL-Spec standard used by most companies. The softer material used on the front edge has a lip of the right size around the screen to prevent the screen and even the screen protector from hitting a relatively flat surface.

As for the small things worth pointing out (almost always something)…

The lip around the camera lens protects them, but it also prevents the phone from lying completely flat. It’s not a big deal, but if you like to tap the screen with your finger while it is on the table, you will definitely notice it.

The texture on the back feels good, but it feels slippery. The official MagSafe accessory seems to be working fine…

But I used a fabric-covered magnet holder in my car, and it did pop up on a particularly large bump. I don’t think anyone will be in trouble here, but the texture is smooth enough that once the box starts to move, there is not enough traction to slow it down.

what do I like

  • Robust protection design, easy to install and disassemble
  • MagSafe compatible
  • The buttons feel good
  • Side material has just the right grip

What will i change

  • The texture and material on the back of the case is a bit slippery
  • The lips around the camera will not let the phone lie flat on the table

Final thoughts

Lifeproof See Case with MagSafe is an easy case to recommend. It is very suitable for iPhone 13 Pro and provides excellent protection. The colors are interesting and the button actions are also very good. I personally want one or two softer materials on the back to increase some traction, but this is a minor problem, and I think I am a minority in this requirement.
