review – Once you have a really bright flashlight, you’ll never want to go back to using your old dim light flashlight. The folks at Acebeam offered to send me their P15 EDC Tactical Light for review and I just had to try it.

Design and Features
I have a lot of flashlights, some good and some bad. What attracted me to the Acebeam P15 EDC Tactical Light was the multifunction switch, charging cable connection and weapon mounting options.
The P15 is made from Aerospace 7075 aluminum alloy with a stainless steel bezel. Sturdy and lightweight, the P15 features a unique locking tail tube that rotates slightly to lock charging cables, remote weapon switches or quick function switches.
I have found the overall quality of the materials used in the past to be very good. The Picatinny rail mount is a flexible material that fits perfectly. All hardware and workmanship seem to be excellent.
The maximum output of 1,700 lumens is surprisingly bright, making it perfect for this light. The multi-function switch is a one-button strobe switch. I think this feature is great for non-lethal deterrence, it’s almost impossible to see what you’re doing when it’s pointed in your eyes.
The customized 18650 battery provides 1.5A fast charge, and it only takes 2.5 hours to fully charge. The battery powers a flat LED that provides the most efficient light and long-distance beam in a lamp of the same size.
The tactical remote switch can be easily side mounted using the bracket provided and connected via the multifunction port. It fits perfectly on the base and works really well.
Tactical rings provide an optional way to carry lights and provide light retention while you do other things with your hands. The ability to still use both hands while operating the flashlight is a really nice feature.
The P15 is waterproof rated IPX68 (2 meters underwater) and is designed for use in heavy rain. Two spare O-rings keep you ready for severe weather. Not only that, but the P15 is shock resistant to 1.5 meters, so it can withstand accidental drops.
The pocket clips are sensible and provide a hole for a lanyard. However, it does sit quite high in the pocket. I prefer to have an inverted “U” clip so the light fits almost completely in my pocket.
The normal operation of the lamp is:
On/Off: Click the switch to remember the last mode you were in.
Mode Selection: When the flashlight is on, pressing and holding the switch will cycle through low, medium, and high modes.
Turbo Mode: Double-tapping the switch will toggle between Turbo Mode and the last memorized mode.
Strobe: Three clicks, works when the light is on or off.
Ultra-low mode: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds, the light enters the ultra-low mode.
Lock Mode: When the torch is off, press and hold switch 5

Overall, the Acebeam P15 Tactical Flashlight is a very cute light that can be carried almost anywhere, whether in a pocket or in a handbag. I love that this light has multiple uses, it might be useful if I decide to carry another light.
