we got our first piece sixpence furniture Almost two years ago. I was looking for a sofa that felt big and comfortable without taking up a lot of space in our small Rhode Island living space. I’ve seen the Neva sofa a few times in my searches and I love the look and fabric choices. It ended up being the perfect piece of furniture for the space, and we’ve bought more sixpence furniture over the past two years. Sixpenny Furniture offers sofas, sectional sofas, chairs, daybeds, ottomans and tables. You can also buy extra sofa covers for the furniture, which is a big selling point for me. Furniture is made to order and there are some options that can be shipped, so depending on your needs and preferences, you can receive your furniture in as little as 2-3 weeks. For custom orders, the wait time is usually 14-16 weeks. In today’s post, I’ll share my honest Sixpenny furniture review along with any other details you need to know when placing your order. SixPenny Furniture Review
order furniture
One of my favorite things about Sixpenny is that they Offers up to 12 free fabric samples. If you are trying to decide which fabric and color, I highly recommend you order some samples first and see what you like. They ship fast and free! I haven’t seen many furniture companies offer this option.
Sixpenny offers Feather Down and Poly Fill options. more info here about the difference between the two. Down is ethical.
When ordering furniture, you can purchase certain items in stock and they will ship within 2-3 weeks. If you are pressed for time, this is a good option. For custom orders, it’s usually more like 14-16 weeks, and I’ve found that based on my own experience ordering furniture, this estimate is usually accurate.
washing set
This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions about my Sixpenny furniture. Although Sixpenny recommends dry cleaning As their best choice for all natural fabrics, I have successfully washed my sofa covers in a variety of fabrics. Machine wash cold water on a delicate cycle, then allow the cover to air dry until it is slightly damp, then 5-10 minutes in the dryer on the lowest setting works well.check out This detailed post on their website dealing with stains.
shipping
Sixpenny offers free shipping on their furniture, which is a great perk. Their free shipping means the furniture is delivered to your door in a box, so no need to unpack or deliver inside. White glove shipping is $100 and I highly recommend this option. If you don’t want to deal with the handling of large boxes and put your furniture in white gloves, then you can.
return the goods
Sixpenny allows items to be returned in their original condition within 30 days. You must keep the original packaging or a 10% restocking fee will be charged for returned items. Custom orders are final sales.

Neva Corn Silk Sofa
Our sixpence furniture
Neva Sofa (Corn Silk, 72″)
The Neva sofa was the first piece of furniture we bought from Sixpenny. It was also one of the first styles they offered as a company. We have 72″ sizes, down, washed cotton and corn silk. Washed cotton and linen are their lightest fabrics, and honestly if I had to do it all over again, with pets, I would probably go for a different fabric. I love the fabric and it washes well, but with pets/toddlers our furniture wears out a lot so we need durability. Washed cotton linen is the most delicate and has cat’s paws, and dog studs have better fabric choices (cotton canvas or light linen) than other fabrics I’ve bought.
In terms of comfort and style, I love the Neva sofa. It’s deep and comfortable enough for tall people, and Craig is 6-foot-4, but small enough for a small space of 72 inches. I would say this size can comfortably fit up to 3 people.
*Disclosure: The Neva sofa from Corn Silk was a gift from the brand. All other furniture that I purchased myself.
Gabriel Sofa Bed (Corn Silk)
I got the Gabriel sofa bed to go into our living room with the Neva sofa and I love how they look together. Due to the layout of our living room, the sofa bed makes the most sense and it works really well in the space. I chose the same fabric because I wanted it to match the sofa, but if I had to do it all over again, I’d go for a lightweight linen or cotton canvas, and I’ll probably order a new cover at some point.
Gabriel Chair (Black Pepper)
i get gabriel chair Black peppers (down filled) in our Vermont living room and I absolutely love them. They are comfortable, our guests often comment on the fact that they look beautiful. I really like the light linen fabric and black pepper color. It’s a bluish gray that almost looks like denim in some lighting. The fabric is strong, soft and slightly stretchy. As you can see from the photos, the natural fabric has a vivid look and feel, which I love. If you don’t like wrinkles in upholstery fabrics, it probably isn’t for you, as cotton and linen naturally make them look more wrinkled.
Elias Sofa (Oat Flour)
Elias sofa Was the first piece of furniture I bought for our house in Vermont. I chose the fabric and color, light linen in oatmeal, mainly because it was in stock at the time and I needed something soon. It shipped quickly, arrived in less than 3 weeks. Overall, the sofa is very comfortable and I have washed the cover a few times without any issues. The only thing I don’t like is the extra part of the Elias sofa (not shown here). They just don’t seem necessary? They seem to be more for looks than practicality, we ended up putting them in a basement closet because they were uncomfortable on the couch and turned out to be annoying. Otherwise it’s really comfortable and big enough for all of us and pets.
