Sponsored News – It all started with the EB150 and EB240 solar generators, the first products from Bluetti in 2019.
About a year later, they released their flagship model AC200 on Indiegogo (powered by NCA Cell) as a crowdfunding campaign.
The project made nearly $7 million in two months.
From then onwards, Bruti Staying at the forefront of technological innovation and equipping all of its new products with LFP technology, covering NCM, NCA and Li-Ion battery chemistries.
You might ask yourself why they do this. Well, in this article, we aim to explain their reasoning to the best of our ability.
What is a lithium iron phosphate battery?
LFP or LiFePO4 stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate and was invented in 1996.
For all the science buffs, its anode material is LiaC6, cathode material is LibFePO4, and the carrier is Li+.
LFP cells offer some of the best electrochemical performance and add lower resistance on the market.
This is achieved through nanoscale phosphate cathode materials found in batteries.
This can bring the following benefits:
- long life cycle
- Thermal stability
- higher current rating
- extra layer of security
How do lithium iron phosphate batteries work?

LFP batteries basically consist of the following components:
- positive (cathode)
- Negative (Anode)
- electrolyte
- divider
- Lithium Metal Oxide (LiFePO4)
- graphite
- Lithium salt
- Polymer film charging
toll
When LiFePO4 batteries are charged, lithium ions are released from the cathode and move to the anode. They do this with electrolytes.
discharge
When a power load is applied to the battery, the opposite reaction occurs. Lithium ions move from anode to cathode.
This movement of lithium ions creates a flow of electrons between these two electrodes, creating an electrical charge.
LiFePO4 batteries with NCM and Li-ion batteries
For this section, we thought it would be best to create a comparison table BrutiJackery and Ecoflow.
Bluetti uses LiFePO4, Jackery Li-Ion and Ecoflow NCM.

(For readers’ information, Bluetti could not find a similar capacity size as the Jackery, so Bluetti included their largest capacity generator, which is 1,534 Wh.)
Next, we want to calculate the LCOS or levelized storage cost in USD/Wh.
When it comes to energy storage, one cannot simply rely on the actual purchase price (upfront cost) of a solar generator.
We also need to consider the total energy (in watt hours) that a solar generator can store and release during its lifetime (charge/discharge cycles).
The formula for calculating LCOS is as follows:
LCOS = Upfront Cost / (Total kWh Capacity x (DoD %) x Cycle Life)
Let’s calculate the LCOS for each solar generator manufacturer and its respective product model.
Bruti
2 kWh x 0.9 x 3500 = 6300
$1,799 / 6300 = $0.285/kWh
Jackie
1.5 kWh x 0.8 x 500 = 600
$1,599/$600 = $2.67/kWh
ecological flow
2 kWh x 0.8 x 800 = 1280
$1,899 / 1280 = $1.48/kWh
As we saw when calculating LCOS, Bluetti is by far the cheaper option in the long run because LiFePO4 technology has a much longer lifespan than both Li-ion and NCM.
Keep in mind that the above LCOS includes other components, such as the charge controller and inverter, as these two components are included in the pre-order price.
Why Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries Are Great for Solar Generators

To highlight this section, we thought it best to highlight all the advantages of LFP cells and why they are best suited for solar generators.
light
LiFePO4 batteries are lightweight compared to other battery technologies. This is especially important when their application is found inside solar generators. The lighter the generator, the more mobile it is.For example, Blueetti’s new AC200MAX Weighs only 61.9 lbs (28.1 kg).
While that sounds like a lot at first glance, you have to keep in mind how much energy storage capacity this machine has. For all energy densities, 61 pounds is almost zero.
long life
Perhaps one of the greatest advantages of an LFP battery is that it can be charged and discharged thousands of times.
In Bluetti’s case, their latest solar generator can discharge more than 3,500 times.
This is an important decision factor for consumers looking to invest in high-quality products that will last for years. LiFePO4 technology can do this.
high efficiency
Unlike lead-acid batteries, LFP batteries are incredibly efficient. You can use up to 90% of capacity, which means you can get the most out of your solar generator in as little space as possible.
Generally speaking, lithium iron phosphate batteries can discharge more than 90% of their capacity.
no active maintenance
LFP batteries require little maintenance. This means you don’t need to do anything to extend its lifespan. You can simply charge and discharge as needed.
Safety
LiFePO4 batteries are indeed safer than NCM batteries. In fact, they are the safest lithium-ion batteries on the market.
These batteries are housed in a hermetically sealed aluminum case, specially designed to withstand temperature, pressure changes, punctures and shocks.
extreme temperature
Bluetti’s solar generators are able to operate over a wide temperature range, which means they can be used in a variety of applications.
When it comes to battery performance, temperature cannot be ignored, and it can have a profound effect on any battery. However, LiFePO4 is most likely in extreme temperature changes.
final thoughts
If you’re looking for the safest solar generator with the greatest potential to provide you with long-term energy storage, look no further than all Bluetti solar generators with the latest LFP technology.
New products and other models AC200MAX and AC300 Modular power systems give you an incredible amount of energy storage.
E.g, AC300 When combined with our Fusion Box Pro, the maximum output voltage is 240V, 6,000W, and the total power is 24,576Wh. This allows you to connect two AC300 units in series and connect up to 8 B300s (four per AC300).
