UnionBank, the country’s premier banking partner for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), has rolled out the latest update to its MSME business banking app UPAY, introducing new features that will provide business owners with the ability to collect payments from customers and greater flexibility in managing their accounts.
The first is a payment option added to the app’s “Request Payment” feature, which allows business owners to receive payment through a link they can send to their customers. Users can now receive and receive payments via VISA and MasterCard debit and credit cards on Instapay, GrabPay, Gcash, Palawan Express, Cebuana Lhuillier and ECPay Partner Outlets.
Second, the app now has a dashboard – designed to improve the user experience by making navigation easier as well as improving the overall performance of the app. The new feature is how UnionBank handles customer feedback related to the application’s user interface and performance – ensuring customer satisfaction.
The app also has access to the UnionBank GlobalLinker (UBGL) platform. Customers can now register with UBGL directly in their banking app, giving them access to 500,000 MSMEs locally and globally to grow their business network.
What’s more, customers can utilize the registration form to participate in a variety of business-focused webinars and learning courses, build a free online e-commerce store, and leverage technology partners to take their business to the next level of digitization. All of this is available through the updated and new MSME Business Banking mobile app.
Since launching the app in January last year, UnionBank has helped countless MSMEs digitize their business – from the way they receive payments to the way they meet their business banking needs. It has become easier for MSMEs to enter the digital space and take advantage of the recent boom in e-commerce due to the pandemic.
“The app has helped me a lot during the pandemic as I don’t have to go to the bank to deposit a check. All I need to do is take a picture of it. Also, the “Request a Payment” feature helps me receive money easily. We already use this facility It’s been convenient for my clients for a long time,” says Engr. Justin Padilla, owner of CE Padilla Construction.
Kenn Ong of KLOCO Corporation said: “In short, it’s smooth and fast – UnionBank is way ahead of other banks when it comes to incorporating modern technology and applications into its systems, so my experience has been great.”
“With the addition of a new payment option ‘Request a Payment’ and the introduction of a dashboard to improve the overall user experience, MSMEs are now able to meet their banking needs more easily and conveniently, allowing them to focus more on growing their business,” said Jaypee Soliman, Vice President and Head of SMEs and Microentrepreneurs at Union Bank. “This is all part of Union Bank’s commitment to our MSME sector in support of our ‘Tech-Up Pilipinas’ campaign.”
