ChefsTemp Finaltouch X10 Instant Read Meat Thermometer Review Ratings
generalize
The Finaltouch X10 is an excellent meat thermometer that can compete with the biggest names in the industry. However, the high shipping costs to the UK are a bit off-putting
- Performance – 90%
- Price – 65%
advantage
- Fast and accurate temperature
- Magnetic mount
shortcoming
- Reasonably high MSRP
- High shipping costs to the UK
A few years ago, I reviewed Weber Connect Smart Grill. I love the concept of the smart grill thermometer, but when it came out, it was plagued by teething issues. It has improved over the years and I still use it today.
Another popular option for grilling and cooking in general is an instant-read thermometer. Ideally, everyone would have one of these, as it ensures your meat is cooked to a safe temperature, and they can also be used for things like roasting.

From Fahrenheit to Celsius
Out of the box, it uses Fahrenheit. This works if you’re American, but isn’t of much use anywhere else.
Thankfully, you can switch to Celsius. You need to physically open the Finaltouch, which includes unscrewing the battery compartment. Then with the thermometer on, you can press the tiny °F/°C button.
is using

Temperatures briefly reached the point where I would consider a BBQ, but quickly returned to typical northern cold weather.
So so far I have only used this indoors.
Swapping it between boiling and ice water provides fast and accurate results.
Then I use it with grilled chicken and a thick steak. I find it works especially well with chicken as I always have a bad habit of overcooking it. This will dry out the meat, especially leftovers the next day.
The thermometer is magnetic so it can be easily attached to the side of the fridge, which I find very useful.

Price and Alternatives
The ChefsTemp Finaltouch X10 has an MSRP of $89.99 and is currently on sale for $69.99. That’s around £69 and £54 respectively. For UK buyers, you’ll be intimidated by the hefty $30 shipping fee. This brings the current price to $99.98 or £76.22
Amazon UK has dozens of affordable alternatives.
Thermapen is a brand loved by many barbecue lovers. The Thermapen ONE is £66, Professional has the same MSRP, but you can get it for around £45.
Lavatools Javelin PRO Duo is also a popular option for just £30
Salter’s Heston Blumenthal digital meat thermometer is currently around £22 on Amazon
Not the same, but you have a lot of smart thermometers that are designed to stay in your meat and notify you of the desired temperature.
Meat is an option that has become very popular in recent years. The single probe option for Meater+ is £100, you can buy a probe for £279
The Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub is £150 and it has improved a lot since I used it in 2020 and I still use it when grilling.
comprehensive
The Chefstemp Finaltouch X10 is an excellent cooking thermometer that I plan to stick to the fridge for easy access.
High shipping costs mean this may not be the best option for UK buyers. You can get the Thermapen Professional for £30 less, although it lacks the convenient magnetic mount.
