Olivia Rodrigo, 19, received the Best New Artist award at the 64th Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on April 3.
“I want to thank my mom for supporting my dreams, no matter how crazy,” Rodrigo said in her acceptance speech. Rodrigo’s father is Filipino. She was just one of many Filipino-born artists to win a gilded gramophone.

Another big winner was Bruno Mars. His band Silk Sonic won Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song for “Leave the Door Open.”

HER won Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song “Fight for You”. The 24-year-old singer is of Filipino descent by her mother’s side.

Rapper Saweetie, whose mother is also biracial Filipino, was nominated for Best New Artist and Best Rap Song.

Singer Elle King, daughter of Filipino mixed-race comedian Rob Schneider, was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her duet “Drunk (I Don’t Want to Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert.
