Where to eat in Woodstock VT
worthy kitchen
If you find yourself in Woodstock, you must visit a local favorite worthy kitchen. With a wide variety of craft beers and farm-to-table menu items, Worthy serves up American fare ranging from locally sourced grilled vegetables to VT beef burgers and the best mac and cheese. Make sure you try Worthy Donuts too. They also have kid-friendly menus and a variety of seating including large tables, bars and booths. There is also plenty of outdoor seating during the warmer months. Reservation is recommended. Worthy Kitchen is conveniently located when you enter town.
Ransom Tavern (at Kedron Valley Inn)
don’t miss the ransom tavern in South Woodstock. Located within the absolutely beautiful Kedron Valley Inn, Ransom Tavern is an amazing dining experience serving authentic Italian cuisine and incredible handcrafted cocktails. Try one of their wood-fired pizzas with a locally brewed beer and start with a plate of local Vermont cheese. They also have vegetarian pizza options. The bar and restaurant are beautiful. During the warmer months, you can sit outside on the deck with beautiful views of historic South Woodstock.
country butcher
Conveniently located in the heart of the village, next to Gillinghams General Store and within walking distance of the covered bridge, country butcher is a great deli and bakery with incredible meats, wines and cheeses. Their sandwich menu doesn’t disappoint, and if you’re a vegetarian, I highly recommend Veggie Delight (with pickles and chili!). You can also make your own sandwiches, with a variety of options, including homemade roast beef. They have outdoor tables to sit and enjoy a casual lunch, or bring a sandwich and walk to Eastside Park for lunch by the river.
Yundi Farm
Unique Farm-to-Table Experience in Woodstock, Vermont, Yundi Farm Offers a farm dining experience using ingredients grown on Cloudland Farm and other local organic farms. This is BYOB and requires reservations, so be sure to plan ahead. The menu is a 3-course pre-restoration that changes daily. The Appalachian Trail also passes through the farm and is open to hikers.

The restaurant is a great place for a cozy or romantic meal, serving a 3-course fixed menu, but also offers an à la carte menu. They also have an extensive cocktail list, including many “Made in Vermont” drinks. Reservations are required for restaurants and bars.
Simon Pierce’s Mill
It’s not surprising Simon Pierce’s Mill Voted one of America’s “Most Romantic Restaurants” by Travel & Leisure. The Mill’s Restaurant is a beautiful space overlooking the Ottaquechee River waterfall and covered bridge. It’s actually in Quechee a short drive from Woodstock, but well worth the trip. The menu is full of locally sourced ingredients and farm-to-table dishes. Reservations are required for the dining room. The bar is open in the evenings, no reservations required. A great place to enjoy cocktails and small snacks. When you’re done, peruse their incredible flagship store and watch their glass blowing workshop.

red rooster Located in the beautiful and historic Woodstock Hotel. Sit back at the bar for a craft cocktail or enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the restaurant. Dishes feature locally sourced ingredients and a variety of Vermont specialties. No reservations are required for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can check the availability for the day (unless you are a guest of the hotel, you cannot book in advance).

If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch, check it out my green cafe. Their menu focuses on locally sourced, organic ingredients, with everything from French toast and breakfast burritos to fresh sandwiches, salads and wraps. They also serve delicious coffee drinks, maple lattes are a fan favorite, and a selection of baked goods. Sit comfortably at the dining table or enjoy outdoor seating on a sunny day.

One of Woodstock’s locals’ favorite places for coffee. Abracadabra serves signature coffee drinks, homemade waffles and oat milk cream from a ’64 shasta trailer. Abracadabra is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of outdoor seating with fire pits to keep you warm during the colder months. Conveniently located next to the East Park, you can enjoy the view while having a coffee.

A welcome addition to Woodstock Village, woodstock spoon is an ice cream shop serving maple cream ice cream made with 100% local ingredients. They also offer plant-based ice cream flavors and a selection of local foods, including maple syrup and other delicacies.
Ramunto’s Brick & Brew Pizza
If you’re craving delicious sliced heads Ramunto’s Brick & Brew Pizza in Bridgewater. Just off the Woodstock town line, Ramunto’s is a short drive from the village. Their New York style pizza is delicious and the Greek salad is a must. Ramunto’s has an extensive beer list and an arcade for family fun. Reservations are not required, but are recommended.

A quintessential Vermont country store in an idyllic setting in South Woodstock. Adjacent to the beautiful and historic Kedron Valley Inn. South Woodstock Country Store Serves delicious breakfast and lunch featuring local ingredients. Have French toast for breakfast and a delicious panini for lunch. Also don’t miss their selection of homemade baked goods.
