review – Summer is almost here, and last summer, I found out how much dehumidifier I need in my home. I did manage to get a little unit in late summer, but this year I’ll be getting ready to use this Vellgoo DryBox 2000 dehumidifier.
What is it?
For convenience, the Vellgoo DryBox 2000 dehumidifier comes with a drain hose and covers up to 580 square feet. A small remote is also included, and the unit even has a sleep mode.

This humidifier is mostly plastic. The control buttons are at the top, and there are ventilation holes on each side. On the bottom right side there is a reservoir that slides in and out, and below the reservoir is the drain plug. The remote is included, and there is a magnetic area on the side to keep the remote in line with the device. There is an LED night light on the side.
Performance
The Vellgoo DryBox 2000 dehumidifier is very simple to set up and use. It’s just about plug and play. Just select your location and insert it:
Once plugged in, you can use the control buttons on the top to turn it on, set the fan mode, and control the LEDs. In the following video, I will walk through the remote control step by step:
Both modes work well, and the Whisper mode will be very welcome if the unit is near you while you’re sleeping. I love LED lights, but that’s probably because it’s not in my bedroom. It was bright enough that I had to turn it off at night. It works well as a night light where I have it. I like that the option to add the included drain hose means it can be left unattended for long periods of time. After about 7 hours, there was measurable water in the reservoir, which indicated some high humidity in my basement:

final thoughts
The Velgoo DryBox 2000 dehumidifier is suitable for semi-large spaces and for me it works well in my basement too. It’s quiet, and being able to attach a hose would be a great feature for anyone who can place it close enough to a drain or a large container that can hold more water. It’s a good size and has 2 modes, one of which is Whisper Quiet.
