widthWhat has happened so far: In China, the sheep is a symbol of justice, peace and harmony. But if there are no bad things, can good things exist? According to legend, there is an evil sheep that only appears once every twelve years. In European tradition, it is called “ovis daemonicus”, a black-headed evil sheep. However, there is no evidence that it ever lived. What does this story have to do with shoes? Much. The local sneaker retailer 43einhalb was inspired by the Fulda Rhön sheep, which is eye-catching because its black head is not cooled to the ears. In 2015, it developed a “Made in Germany” sneaker in cooperation with Kangaroo.
They told the story of the devil sheep and the hunter becoming prey. The result is Ovis, a kangaroo-style sneaker that should represent good and bad due to its black and white color scheme. But the story ends in suspense. Six years later, the next round is finally about to begin. The hunter’s story continues to be related to lupus, again with the help of a carefully filmed video: as a prey, it has undergone an internal transformation of the animal. The distorted sound became louder, the blurred lines gathered to form a clear vision-the hunter was back, stronger than ever.
43einhalb owner Mischa Krewer (Mischa Krewer) said: “Somehow, sheep and wolves have always belonged to the same group of people, in traditional stories and legends since the Middle Ages.” “On our demon sheep Ovis After the legend, we came up with the idea of turning our protagonist into lupus lupus. The process of becoming a werewolf is not shown in our video, but the demon is transferred to him in the form of a wolf.”
Limited to 800 copies
Kangaroo and sneaker store celebrated this resurrection with Runaway Lupus. It is limited to 800 individually numbered pairs, all of which are manufactured at the Hummel & Hummel shoe factory in Münchweiler near Pirmasens. This sneaker appeared at retailers on the occasion of International Wolf Day on April 30. Light gray, medium gray and dark gray tones appear on uppers made of nubuck leather, with a black stripe on the metatarsal bones. Gray and blue tones should represent the characteristics of lupus. The collar lining is made of soft Alcantara material, the insole has the iconic “lupus” print, and the white EVA foam midsole complements the ice gray outsole. My favorite detail is the wolf head on the heel.
By the way, 43einhalb started its tenth anniversary with lupus. I like the second chapter of the legend at least as much as the first chapter. Will there be a sequel? Cruel left it open: “Who knows! Thinking of the future in six years, there may be a sequel to the Ovis legend.”
