15 things to do in Manchester, VT this summer

A few weekends ago, Jesse and I had a girls’ weekend getaway in Manchester, Vermont, and we were staying at The Equinox Hotel. From Woodstock, drive scenic Route 100 past the Green Mountains, Coolidge State Forest, Echo Lake, Oakmore State Forest and Mount Bromley. Even as a Vermonter, I can appreciate the beauty and diversity of the rolling hills, mountains and valleys as you walk through each village.

In Manchester, we love exploring this sweet and charming town. Vermont may be a small state (though not as small as Rhode Island), but it’s always interesting to see the difference in the landscape, vibe, and unique charm of each town. Manchester has a burgeoning restaurant scene that is as stylish as it is delicious. Whether you’re a thrill seeker, adventurer or nature lover, there are plenty of boutiques to choose from and plenty to do. If you’re considering a trip to Manchester, Vermont, here are 15 things to do this summer.

where to live

Equinox Golf Resort and Spa

Equinox provides the perfect central location for your Manchester family holiday this summer. Even better, it’s pet friendly! Indoor swimming pools, golf courses, lakes and spas make all your activities easy and convenient. Luxury resort spas are great places to relax and indulge in treatments using local products. The indoor pool is a great option for the kids rain or shine! We also really enjoyed our drinks and apps on Equinox’s beautiful front porch with the mountains in the background.

We stayed at the Orvis Inn Two Bedroom King Suite. We each have our own king size bed and full bathroom, and the adjoining suite features a living room and kitchen, a lovely common area for lounging, chatting and doing late night masks. The rooms are spacious and ideal for families and groups. *Thanks to Equinox for graciously hosting our 2 night stay. *
