He wrote on Twitter: “The gendarmes of the Cuban regime are shooting at unarmed Cuban protesters fighting for freedom. 60 years of communism, cruelty and oppression cannot continue.
“When we peacefully demonstrated on the streets of Miami, we pleaded with the United States to take action.”
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel stated that the protests were made by mercenaries hired by the United States to weaken the country.
He promised to make a “revolutionary response.”
