Surveillance footage of armed robbers
On October 24, the Pink Gorilla video game store in the International District of Chinatown was targeted again – this time by an armed robber.
Employees told police that a man entered the store in the middle of the workday and asked if he wanted to buy a PlayStation 3.
The two staff stood behind the cashier and put the console into the man’s bag. He took out the black pistol on his waist and pointed to the ground.
He then ordered employees to empty the cash registers and collectible card display cases into bags.
The man escaped with a PlayStation 3 console ($85), a trading card consisting of Magic the Gathering, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards (over $1,000) and $346 in cash.
The store owner told KOMO-TV it was the first armed robbery in 17 years, even though the store has been broken into four times in the past six months.
Cody Spencer said: “I’m at work almost every day of the week, and that’s the kind of thing – burglary, armed robbery that totally makes you think what I’m doing, like what the hell does that mean.”
Police have not caught the robber yet.
Anyone who identifies the suspect is asked to call SPD’s whistleblower hotline at 206-233-5000.
