Time to drink. literally. i live airthe “world’s first winery airline” has just completed its inaugural wine-tasting flight, with more test flights planned for later in 2023.

“We’re excited to open Invivo Air to the public and provide a truly unique experience for those who join,” said Invivo Air co-founder Rob Cameron. “We look forward to guiding our guests through the ultimate wine lover experience.”

On its maiden voyage, the New Zealand-based company takes an Air Saab 340 full of guests cloud wine Decorate on the outside. The plane left Auckland Airport on January 31 for an “all-inclusive viticulture holiday”, Invivo said, “with 30 wine guests on an overnight adventure from Auckland to Queenstown, tasting more than 16 wines”.

The eight-step guided tasting at 18,000 feet includes tastings from the award-winning Invivo, Graham Norton and Invivo X, Sarah Jessica Parker collections. Two hours after takeoff, Invivo Air landed in Queenstown where guests could visit and sample a selection of Pinot Noir wines at Legend’s Terrace, one of Invivo’s oldest vineyards in scenic Central Otago.

This was followed by a five-course banquet-style dinner at Botswana Butchery in central Queenstown, paired with wine and spirits, before a mission retreat to the lakeside at the five-star Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa on the shores of Lake Wakatipu guest room. They flew back to Auckland the next morning on Invivo Air.

We’ve had such positive feedback from our guests that we’re planning our next experience. We’d love to launch an international flight for our next trip!”
