Ana Cruz “Desire and Disappearance” catalog

Introduction

When socially awkward 28-year-old Anna discovers a discarded diary on the streets of Berlin, she stumbles upon a hidden world of lust, danger and disappearance.

The diary is of Gabriella Meyer, a bold sex therapist living in Communist East Berlin in the ’80s, where pleasure is a scarce commodity and danger lurks around every corner. corner. As Ana delves deeper into Gabriella’s life and work, she discovers that her sexual awakening and Gabriella’s sudden disappearance may be more intertwined than she ever imagined.

As each page of the diary reveals new secrets, Ana becomes increasingly fascinated with the mysterious Gabriella and the dark truths she may be hiding.

Well what can I say? This is a sizzling one! There are tons of sexy scenes as we delve into Gabriella’s world as a sex therapist. Unbeknownst to Anna herself, she is so influenced by Gabriela’s diary that she begins to explore her sexuality, her emotions and finding love.
The book is filled with diversity, and the LGBTQ+ community plays a major role in the storyline, which is always a joy to watch.

I thought the time slide worked really well, allowing us to switch each character back and forth from the past to the present. Clearly, the author has done a fantastic job with the historical research, which lends the book a bit of authenticity.
It all ended with a lovely twist at the end.

The Catalog of Desire and Vanishing is not something I would normally read, but I’m so glad I did! I will definitely be looking for more books by Ana Cruz.

Giveaways to follow!
