The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dade Phelan issued a notice on Thursday that according to the provisions of the Texas House of Representatives, Democratic Speaker Joe Moody was stripped of his title.

In another statement issued on Thursday, Ferran reminded House Democrats that he will prepare a charter plane in Washington, DC this weekend, and they need to be on standby.
“To further force House Democrats to return to Texas, I am chartering a flight and will be on standby in Washington, DC on Saturday,” Ferran wrote. “I ask all of our colleagues in Washington, DC to contact my employees immediately to secure their seats on the plane and return to Austin to handle affairs in the state. Texas is waiting.”
