Google is introducing a new way to search the web using a combination of text and images at the same time.
Available as an add-on in Google Lens, Multisearch gives you a different way to find what you’re looking for.
This tool is designed for searches that are not as simple as a single image or text phrase.
If you want to learn more about the object in front of you, but you don’t have all the words to describe what you’re looking for, this is where Multisearch comes in.
With multiple searches in Lens, you can ask Google what you see. This is thanks to Google’s advances in artificial intelligence.

First, download the latest update for your Google app, then follow these steps:
- Open the Google app on Android or iOS
- Click the lens camera icon
- Upload saved images or take pictures of the world around you
- Swipe up and tap the “+ Add to your search” button to add text
You can ask Google questions about objects in front of you, and use text to refine your search by color, branding, or visual attributes.
Google provides the following examples of the types of use cases for which Multisearch is designed:
- Take a cut of a stylish orange dress and add the query “green” to find another color
- Take a photo of your table and add the query “coffee table” to find matching tables
- Take a photo of your rosemary plant and add the query “care instructions”
Google’s advances in artificial intelligence have made it easier for people to understand the world in a natural and intuitive way.
