The struggle for climate justice is our life’s struggle. However, the impact of the climate crisis is unequal and unfair.
This crisis is caused by a few privileged people, but it hits people of color and marginalized communities the hardest.
Therefore, we cannot talk about the climate crisis without acknowledging that it is also an issue of inequality and race.
Committed
Of course, if there is no thorough and rapid change, this trend of injustice will add to the marginalized communities of all other profound historical injustices that Britain, Europe, and the world have faced.
The fight for climate justice requires collective effort. If we really want to end the climate crisis, we must urgently put the people on the front line of the most serious impact at the core of the dialogue.
Working in the climate movement in the UK and Europe for a few years has made me understand that most climate organizations have no good track record in dealing with fairness issues or understanding climate change from a dimension outside of the strict environment.
This experience and the desire to ensure that those most affected by the climate crisis have a place on the negotiating table, which prompted me to form the Justice League, a European, independent, and colored people-led organization dedicated to racial justice and climate justice.
Included
We are a team of activists, researchers, artists and elected representatives from all over Europe-they are all committed to building a fair, just and sustainable Europe and the world.
Our goal is to defend, protect and expand human and fundamental rights, pursue racial equality throughout Europe, and at the same time achieve a just climate transition.
Therefore, our immediate goal is to ensure that concentrated projects and decisions on European climate action do not exacerbate injustice, and to ensure that the voices and concerns of marginalized communities are heard and accepted.
A just climate transition requires us to ensure that any and all remedial actions against climate change are just, inclusive and diverse.
Our three pillars are:
1) Empowerment
We are building a vibrant network of people of color throughout Europe, where we promote training so that the most affected people have the skills and knowledge to bring change to their communities.
2) Impact
We are not a neutral organization. No more’fence sitting’. We openly and proudly advocate positions and policies that promote racial equality and climate justice in any way.
We will do this through research, advocacy, and policy recommendations, as well as by establishing contacts with key decision makers and mobilizing activists.
3) change
From local movements to movements aimed at changing EU internal policies, we will ensure that people of color promote dialogue, whether it is focused on refuting eco-fascist narratives, fighting for climate compensation, or promoting a globally conscious, just and inclusive Europe Green agreement.
If you want to be part of a movement that reflects the beautiful blend of tones and sounds from communities of color from all over our continent, if you want to reverse the climate crisis and help build a fair, just and sustainable Europe and the world, please support us and Join the movement.
