Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan denied reports that Pakistani fighters crossed the border into Afghanistan to help the Taliban fight the Afghan government.
“This is absolutely nonsense,” Khan said in an interview PBS news hour Anchor Judy Woodruff.

Prime Minister Khan also stated that Pakistan has suffered huge losses in the long US war in Afghanistan.
He said his government will not allow the United States to set up any bases in Pakistan to engage in intelligence work or conduct counter-insurgency operations.
Khan said: “We do not have the ability to carry out more fighting within our borders, nor do we have the ability to carry out any terrorist activities within our country.”
“When we were at the height of the war on terrorism that Pakistan joined, suicide bombings occurred across the country. Businesses closed down, tourism closed down. So we don’t want to be part of any conflict,” he said.
Khan said that Pakistan pushed the Taliban to negotiate with the United States to end the conflict in Afghanistan, adding that the best political outcome in Afghanistan is an “inclusive government.”
“This is the best result. There is no other result because the military solution failed,” he said.
