Downs CEO Joe Palmer said: “This is good news for us and the beginning of a new era in the history of Wimbledon.

“We have the opportunity to create something truly special-both on and off the court. The Rugby League is a fast and exciting game, and the Broncos will play against top teams. To be a partner of a club with this pedigree It is an honor.

“Off the court, the Broncos share the same values as us. They very much want to be a valuable and important part of the wider community. We have a lot in common-especially we have been looking for a suitable home for too long.

“I really believe that the Broncos will help enrich our lives in Plough Alley.”
