It only takes a few minutes to prepare and about 5 minutes to cook. Plus, roasting broccoli in the air fryer is delicious, easy, and healthy. It’s also a great way to easily make air fryer recipes if you’re new to this device.

- broccoli – Buy a bunch of your own cut florets (see how I do it quickly in my Broccoli Cheese Soup YouTube video), or you can buy pre-cut broccoli florets, just make sure to trim them to a uniform size, This way they cook evenly. For the best air-frying broccoli, I recommend fresh broccoli, but technically frozen florets will also work by adding a few minutes to the cooking time.
- olive oil – or avocado oil.
- lemon juice – Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor or bottled For convenience. I love the lemon flavor in cauliflower, but if you’re not a fan, you can also omit this and just use olive oil.
- spices – garlic powder, Sea salt and black pepper. Feel free to mix up the seasonings, too! Other good additions include onion powder, paprika, lemon pepper to taste (Skip the lemon juice in this case), red pepper flakes, or even grated Parmesan.

How to Cook Broccoli in the Air Fryer

- Preheat. warm up Air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
- season. In a large bowl, drizzle olive oil and lemon juice over broccoli. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper and toss to coat.
- Air fryer. Place broccoli in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for about 5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the broccoli is tender and the edges are browned.
tip: Don’t crowd the air fryer basket. If the florets don’t fit in a single layer, work in batches. It’s okay for the broccoli to be touchable, but even for cooking and optimal browning, you don’t want the pieces to overlap each other.


How long does it take to cook broccoli in an air fryer?
Broccoli in the air fryer takes about 5 minutes at 380 degrees Fahrenheit. The time can be shortened by a few minutes, depending on the size of the florets. You can check them after 4 minutes and every minute or two thereafter until they are done to your liking.
How to cook frozen broccoli in the air fryer?
Frozen broccoli can be cooked in the air fryer just like fresh broccoli; it just takes a few extra minutes. Do not thaw broccoli – you can season and cook it frozen.
Storage Instructions
- To store leftovers: Store cooked vegetable leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- Reheat: Reheat broccoli in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes or in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes.
