Cloud services are expected to increase Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) by approximately US$10.9 billion in the next 15 years, and create 24,700 direct and indirect jobs in Indonesia’s AWS supply chain, including construction, facility maintenance, engineering, Telecom and other AWS said, as well as job opportunities in the wider Indonesian economy.

With the launch of the AWS Asia Pacific (Jakarta) region, AWS now oversees 84 availability zones in 26 geographic regions around the world, and announced plans to launch another 24 availability zones and 8 AWS regions in Australia, Canada, India, Israel, and New Zealand , Spain, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. Jakarta, along with China’s Hong Kong, Beijing, Ningxia, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney, has become the “region” of the Asia-Pacific region.
