A 22-year-old Texas A&M student named Bharti Shahani died and was injured in the Astroworld tragedy on Wednesday, making her the ninth victim in the tragedy.

Her father, Bhagu Shahani, said that he only wanted his daughter to “justify” and did not want other people’s daughters to “be like this.”

There is no evidence that Scott encouraged the crowd to become rough. Scott said that he will provide refunds to those who attended the concert and pay the funeral expenses of the nine victims. “In the past week, Travis Scott and his team have been actively exploring ways to establish contact with each family affected by the tragedy through appropriate liaisons,” said Scott’s representative.
In an Instagram post, Scott said he was “shocked” by these incidents and added that he “never imagined something like this would happen.”
