New York WCBS-TV reported that the small plane crashed after taking off from Essex Airport in New Jersey.

In the statement sent to Weekly newspaperA Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson said, “The local law enforcement agency notified the FAA that they found a single-engine Cessna 172 airliner in a forest in a state park near Lake Kiama, New Jersey, at about 4 pm on Thursday. The area crashed.”

The statement continued: “The FAA issued an alert notice (ALNOT) to public safety agencies shortly before 3 pm to remind them of the missing aircraft.” “The flight was from Essek, Caldwell, New Jersey. Take off from Washington County Airport and fly to Sussex Airport. There are two people on board.”

De Vries made the headlines last month when he and Shatner traveled to space on Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket for a few minutes.
