Australian darts star Kyle Anderson dies at the age of 33

Australia Darts Star Kyle Anderson has passed away at the age of 33.

Nicknamed “The Original”, Anderson has been a frequent visitor to British professional darts company tours for many years, winning his PDC Passed the Q school travel card in 2014.

From 2015-19, he entered the final 32 of the PDC World Championship four times at Alexandra Palace, and entered the semi-finals of the European Championship in 2017, and entered the British Open and the eighth finals of the 2018 World Cup in 2016. The last four games of fellow Australian Simon Whitlock.

Anderson’s most prominent championship victory was his victory in the 2017 Players Championship and the Oakland Masters, and he was one of only eight players in the World Championship. He achieved this in the 2014 game against Ian White. A feat.

He also scored nine darts against Michael van Gerwen at the 2017 European Championships.

Tribute to the popular Anderson quickly flooded in, and in February he gave up the PDC travel card that had remained in his hometown of Australia since the coronavirus pandemic.

Anderson, who suffers from diabetes, fought Covid-19 last year, but later recovered and participated in the PDC Home Tournament, a special tournament designed by PDC that allows players to play at home during the pandemic.

“At this extremely sad moment, we extend our condolences and best wishes to Kyle’s family and friends, especially his wife and children,” said PDC President Barry Hearn.

“Kyle’s achievements in his short career are outstanding, especially his victory in the Oakland Darts Masters and the appropriate reward for the sacrifices he made to realize his dreams.

“He is a popular player on the tour, and his talent and dedication have made him an inspiration for other players around the world.”

16-time world champion Phil Taylor wrote on Twitter: “It’s terrifying to wake up and see what a friendly person. @KyleDarts RIP friends. Your whole family missed it.”

Darts legend Bobby George said: “Rest in peace Kyle Anderson. Destructive news. Condolences to family and friends. #dartsworld It’s another sad day.”

Whitlock said: “When I woke up and learned the terrible news about Kyle, I was very frustrated. Not only an excellent player, but a very good person. I have played against him many times and I like to play against him. Play together. You will miss Kyle, but you will never forget-tragedy.”

Stephen Bunting wrote on Twitter: “It is absolutely heartbreak to hear this news this morning. RIP Kyle Anderson. You are not with your brother, the world of darts is different.

“Every time I meet, you always make me laugh. With you by your side, it will never be dull. We will miss you, man.”

Nathan Aspinall said: “I felt very frustrated after hearing the news of Kyle Anderson’s death. A great dart player and a better guy. You will miss my friend.”
