According to reports in his native language Brazil When undisclosed problems were discovered, Bailey was undergoing routine check-ups at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.
“Complete tests/scans/colonoscopy/bloods, etc.,” Agent Joe Fraga told Reuters. “He won’t finish everything in one day.”
Bailey later confirmed that he was recovering from resection of the “suspicious lesion” detected in the right colon.
He did not say whether the tumor was malignant, and the Albert Einstein Hospital later confirmed in a statement that it had been sent for examination.
According to Reuters, Bailey has been recovering in the intensive care unit, but is expected to be transferred to a room in the hospital on Tuesday.
“My friends, thank you very much for your kind comments. I thank God for making me feel good and allowing Dr. Fabio and Dr. Miguel to take care of my health,” read a message on his official Instagram account .
“Last Saturday, I underwent surgery to remove suspicious lesions on the right colon. A tumor was found during the test I mentioned last week.
“Fortunately, I am used to celebrating great victories with you. I will face this game with a smile and live full of optimism and happiness surrounded by the love of my family and friends.”
Bailey was recently forced to deny reports that he had fainted. He wrote: “Guys, I did not faint. I am in good health. I took the routine exam because of the pandemic. I couldn’t take it before. Let them know about me. Not playing next Sunday!”
