- flounder – Flounder is a saltwater flounder that has a mild flavor and a fine, flaky texture, very similar to other whitefish.taste a bit similar halibutsoles and haddock. Choose fresh flounder fillets that have a firm texture and no strong smell. You can also buy frozen and thaw with cold water (or overnight in the fridge) before cooking.
- Oil – I used regular olive oilbut you can also use extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, or your favorite neutral cooking oil.

I prefer to use unsalted so I can adjust the salt individually, but you can also use salted and reduce the amount of added salt a bit. For a dairy-free option, you can use just 2 tablespoons of olive oil instead of 1 tablespoon each of butter and oil.
- lemon juice – As with other fish, can brighten up halibut recipes.You can use fresh lemon juice (or even lime juice), or grab bottled For convenience.

How to Cook Halibut

- Prepare. If the fish is frozen, thaw it and pat the fillets dry with paper towels.place them in a framed pan Or place in a baking dish without overlapping.
- brush. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, and lemon juice. Brush butter mixture on both sides of halibut.
- season. In a separate small bowl, whisk together paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and season generously with seasoning mixture.


- bake. Cook the halibut recipe in the oven until it flakes easily with a fork. You can serve as is or garnish with a lemon slice and a little fresh parsley.

Tip: Use a meat thermometer.
Times may vary depending on the thickness of the fish, so for best results, use meat thermometer 10 minutes later. The ideal internal temperature for moist, flaked fish is 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit. You can cook it up to 145°F, but the fish will start to get a bit dry at this point.

- Reheat: Bake at 325°F until warm, or microwave on low power briefly.
