According to reports, a group of armed robbers in Brazil carried out a series of deadly bank robberies using human shields installed on the roofs of escape cars.
The robbers forced the hostages to lie on the roofs of their ten cars. If they disobey, they will face shooting. CNN Report.
“The only thing I can think of is that I will die,” one of the hostages said in an interview. Brazilian news site UOL.
On Monday, the group attacked three banks in the small city of Aracatuba in the state of São Paulo. BBC said.
The media added that the robbers successfully broke into two banks and destroyed the third bank. It is not clear how much they can steal.
The BBC reported that in addition to using human shields, the gang also cut off access to major roads by igniting vehicles and placing remote-controlled explosive devices in 20 locations across the city.
The local police told CNN that three people died, including two victims and a suspected robber.
Police said five other people were injured. One of them had to amputate his feet while riding a bicycle when the bomb exploded.
According to the BBC, the armed robbers also used drones to monitor police activities.
According to CNN, more than 380 police officers are investigating the deadly robbery and are trying to find more than a dozen suspects.
