Britain provides 300 million pounds to fragile countries to combat climate change

On the day of adaptation, loss and damage Police 26, International Trade Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan will hold a ministerial meeting at the Glasgow summit.

Ministers from at least 26 countries and regions, including the United States and the European Commission, will attend the meeting. The British government’s supporter of adaptation and resilience at the 26th COP will urge countries to take more steps. Measures to support developing countries, while announcing Westminster’s financial commitments.

About 274 million pounds will be invested in the Asia-Pacific region to help communities better respond to the impact of climate change. At the same time, a 15 million pounds adaptation fund will be set up for developing countries, and 1 million pounds will be used to support humanitarian actions to combat climate change.

Before the event, Ms. Trevelyan said: “We must take immediate action to prevent climate change from driving more people into poverty.

“We know that climate impacts have a disproportionate impact on those who are already the most vulnerable.

“Our goal is to achieve major changes and ultimately contribute to the sustainable development and climate-resilient future for all, leaving no one behind.”

Representatives of communities affected by climate change will also have the opportunity to talk to world leaders at the conference.

Emily Bohobo N’Dombaxe Dola is the coordinator of the Youth NGO (Youngo) Adaptive Resilience Group, a group established by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and will address ministers.

“After witnessing the impact of climate change on the local coastal communities in Senegal, I was attracted by climate action, with both existing and uncoming impacts,” she said.

“Due to natural disasters and changing weather patterns, from the working class and refugee communities, to the disabled, the elderly, women and young girls, the socially marginalized and geographically disadvantaged groups in northern and southern societies have suffered the most.
