On September 17, CACA Seattle and American Veterans Organization Cathay Post #186 honored Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) military personnel and first responders with the inaugural AAPI Hometown Heroes Celebration Luncheon. The event took place at Terry’s Kitchen in Bellevue.
Seattle, Federal Way, Kent, Stevens Lake, Mountlake Terrace and Mukilteo Police, Snohomish South County Firefighters, Washington State Patrol, Navy Reserves, Army, FBI, U.S. Secret Service, EMT and their families celebrated among the heroes. More than 125 people attended.
Honorary Planning Committee members in attendance included Washington State Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, Washington State Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos, U.S. Army Brigadier General Oscar Hillman (Ret.) and Federal Highway Police Chief Andy Wong. Other elected Asian officials representing Bellevue, Eastside, Mountlake Terrace and Seattle also attended the event in support of AAPI Heroes.
