SEATTLE – The Seattle Department of Communities (DON) is currently hiring to fill seven vacancies on the Community Involvement Council (CIC). Current job openings include positions representing City Council Districts 1, 2, 3 and 7, as well as three incumbent positions.
CIC advises DON and other city departments on coordinated, city-wide outreach and engagement activities. The commission is committed to holding New York City accountable for increasing participation and engagement — especially in historically marginalized and underserved communities.
The committee consists of 16 members, seven appointed by the city council and seven by the mayor, one of which is held by a young person through the Engagement program. The final two members are elected by CIC members.
Committee members each serve a two-year term, with the exception of Get Engaged positions, which serve a one-year term. Commissioners serve as volunteers, spending approximately three to six hours a month performing their duties.
