Happy Saturday. It’s been a (obviously) heavy week with yet another school shooting. then trump was indictedI attended a small intimate event with some other women in Woodstock on Thursday night. It’s called “mind, body, and soul catharsis.”it is Way Out of my comfort zone to say the least. I went into it nervous, self-conscious, and ready to make any excuse not to go. Although I know almost all the women there, I still feel very uncomfortable. Through a series of movements, dancing, screaming (yes) and other activities, I left feeling much calmer that night.
I don’t know what my purpose in sharing this is, but I guess sometimes we have to make ourselves uncomfortable to find comfort. We cannot desensitize ourselves, but have to be in touch with all these emotions, fear, anger, sadness, stupidity, to come back to some kind of center. The world is a chaotic place, and I have no doubt been lucky to live in a place that feels like a safe space, not just for obvious reasons, but because of the way people treat each other and themselves. With caring and kindness, a non-judgmental openness, feels the need to get through these difficult times. take care of yourself. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Here are the best of the week…
