Columbia Climate Institute Postdoctoral Research Program now accepting applications for 2023

The Columbia Climate Institute Postdoctoral Research Program is now seeking applications from innovative doctoral candidates or recent Ph.D., MD, JD, or Sc. Recipients interested in broad issues in sustainability (within five years after earning their degree) join their Fall 2023 cohort. The application deadline is October 31, 2022.

This Postdoctoral Research Program at Columbia Climate Institute is the world’s premier program for a better understanding of climate-related science and key scientific and societal issues in global sustainable development. The program provides scholars with the opportunity to acquire and apply the interdisciplinary expertise needed to address key sustainable development issues, such as artificial intelligence and climate, carbon management, climate finance and risk, coastal viability, disaster resilience, energy storage and food transformation.

The program provides a unique intellectual environment that fosters interdisciplinary interaction, research and education.Postdoctoral researcher at the School of Climate joins multidisciplinary team Distinguished, dedicated scientists at the Earth Institute and Columbia University. Candidates who have developed an interdisciplinary approach during postgraduate study or who are interested in developing an interdisciplinary approach during postdoctoral training will find many opportunities to participate in cutting-edge projects in sustainability research.

Application requirements

Candidates must complete Apply online and submit a research proposal that contributes to global sustainable development. Candidates may suggest contributing to, expanding on, existing Climate Schools programs, or developing new programs that integrate the school’s broad expertise.

In addition to submitting applications and proposals, candidates are strongly encouraged to identify and contact their desired multidisciplinary guidance team, IE. Application deadline is October 31, 2022. The program will begin in fall 2023 and run for 24 months.

The program is open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. All PhD requirements must be met and the degree awarded within five years prior to appointment.
