A source familiar with the investigation said that the congressional committee investigating the fatal attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 intends to require the telephone company to keep records of persons involved in organizing the pre-riot rallies.
This will be the third round of requests after the House Committee ordered federal agencies and social media companies to hand over records related to the violence and the incidents that led to the violence last week.
The source confirmed a report by CNN on Monday that the committee’s request is expected to include the retention of telephone records of then-President Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka, and his sons Eric and Donald Jr. .

CNN stated that the list of individuals whose records the committee requires the telephone company to keep also includes Republican congressmen who are staunch supporters of Trump, and his comments on Joe Biden’s victory in the November 2020 election. Lampe’s false claims were affected by fraud.
The committee declined to comment on its plans.
When Congress met to prove Biden’s victory, Trump supporters rushed into the Capitol. Nearly 600 people were arrested for the attack.
