From November 11, employees of nursing homes must be vaccinated against the new coronavirus
According to the new guidelines, from November 11, all employees working in nursing homes in England must be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The government has issued guidelines to help managers change the law, which applies to all people working in nursing homes registered with the Care Quality Council (CQC) unless they are medically exempted.
In addition to the nursing home staff, anyone who enters the nursing home, such as health care professionals, CQC inspectors, businessmen, hairdressers, and beauticians, must be vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
However, friends and relatives of residents of nursing homes, as well as residents themselves, emergency service personnel, and personnel providing bereavement support will not be subject to these regulations.
Teenagers under the age of 18 will also not be subject to the policy, but the guidelines state that once they reach 18 years of age, they will not be able to enter a nursing home until they are vaccinated with both vaccinations.
