Covid-19 infections in England are declining.
At the end of last month, the number of people infected with Covid-19 in England decreased, and the number of the closely watched reproduction “R” may have fallen below 1, which further proves that the national epidemic has stopped growing.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) in the United Kingdom stated that in the week ending July 31, it is estimated that 1 in 75 people in England was infected with the coronavirus, down from one in 65 the previous week.
Public Health England stated that England’s estimated R value is between 0.8 and 1.1, a sharp drop from the 1.1 to 1.4 range last week.
A value of R below 1 indicates that the pandemic is shrinking, while a value above 1 indicates exponential growth. The daily growth rate is estimated to be between -3% and +1%.

The new data further proves that even after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson lifted the restrictions on Covd-19, this wave of daily reported data shows that coronavirus cases have fallen from the peak on July 17.
Two days before the end of the restriction, the number of daily cases in the UK reached 54,674, but has since declined. ONS data provides a more comprehensive understanding of the pandemic than the total number of daily tests, and shows a similar downward trend.
Before the statutory coronavirus restrictions in England ended on July 19, the total number of daily cases rose sharply. Health Minister Sajid Javid stated that the number of cases per day may reach 100,000 after unlocking.
On the contrary, the number of new cases per day began to decline.
