These Hot Oil Chili Noodles are a popular 15-minute recipe on TikTok, inspired by the Chinese vegetable You Po Noodles. It’s made with boiled rice noodles tossed in a herb-flavored spicy hot oil sauce you’ll love.

Amazing chili oil noodles
These chili noodles are trending recently on Tiktok and Instagram and I love it! They were inspired by a Chinese dish called “You Po Noodles,” which consists of boiled noodles with spicy sauce and sizzling oil.
Po mian Literally oil sprinkled noodles! The sauce is made with hot oil that is poured over a mixture of aromatics and spices to release their flavors. Add coconut aminos (or soy sauce) and rice vinegar at the end for a little more flavor and you’re ready to go!

materials needed:
- garlic: Use fresh garlic for the best flavor! We love this extra garlicky flavor.
- Chili Flakes: You can use red pepper flakes or KOrian Chili Flakes! Remember, this is a spicy noodle dish.
- Chili and black pepper crushed: We just used a few seasonings to crank the heat up a notch.
- Coconut Aminos and Seasoned Rice Vinegar: Gives our noodles rich, salty and umami flavours.
- Decorate: We added a little color and freshness with chopped green onions, parsley, and cilantro.
- Avocado Oil: Other types of cooking oils will work, but my favorite is avocado oil.
- Noodle: You need 6-8 ounces of cooked gluten-free noodles. We used rice noodles and jolly egg noodles.

How to Make Chili Noodles
These Chili Oil Noodles basically take as long as the pasta to cook!so fast, so easy, and so good!
- Prepare the spices and seasonings: Add the shallots and garlic to a bowl along with the chili flakes, cayenne pepper, and crushed black pepper. Add coconut aminos and rice vinegar.
- Cook noodle: Cook 6-8 oz noodles of your choice according to package directions.
- Heat the oil and combine: Heat oil in a frying pan until boiling, then pour into a bowl with spices and seasonings.
- Add the noodles: Toss the noodles into the sauce, stir until completely covered, and serve.
what noodles to use
Really any gluten free noodles, or noodles, will work with this recipe! I have used rice ramen and jolly egg noodles with great results. My favorite is the egg noodles here.
If you don’t want to make this dish gluten-free, you can also use udon noodles or even just plain old pasta.
Tips and Precautions for Chili Noodles
- The time is right. If your chili oil noodles are hot, try timing so the noodles and sauce are done at the same time. This way you can combine and serve in no time!
- Remember, this is a spicier dish. If you want to turn the heat down a bit, you can reduce the amount of chili flakes or cayenne pepper.
- Add protein. Add cooked tofu, chicken, beef, pork or even shrimp to enrich your meal.
- Add vegetables. Take nutrition up a notch and add your favorite cooked vegetables. Try bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, you name it.
- If you do add extra ingredients, Just keep in mind that you may need extra sauce to cover everything.

Service suggestion
These chili oil noodles are delicious hot or cold! If you’re serving it hot, just mix the cooked pasta with the sauce and serve. If you are cold, rinse the noodles in cold water before making and adding to the sauce.
