China also faces calls from foreign politicians and human rights organizations to boycott the Olympics because China has detained more than 1 million members of Uighurs and other Muslim communities in northwestern Xinjiang.
Beijing stated that it provided volunteer vocational training and anti-radicalism courses, and condemned the boycott call for the politicization of sports based on false evidence.
The Chinese capital hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics and was the first city to win the right to host the Winter Olympics.
Chen Rongqin, an official of the Construction Department of the Planning Commission, said that except for temporary facilities that cannot be constructed too early, the work is basically completed.
“In the next few months, we still need to build more facilities and houses. These are our main tasks now,” Chen said.
The National Ski Jumping Center is one of the main venues for this trip, and the light show at night is the highlight.
