The Capital Region Medical Center removed a freshly graduated medical school graduate who offered parents with children a letter to choose not to wear a mask in exchange for $50.
Emergency room doctor Dr. Brian Warden recently advertised the mask exemption letter for $50 on Facebook as part of the controversial “medical opt-out interview” screening campaign.His post quickly attracted a lot of attention after being shared in the “Parents Against Masks” Facebook group
In his post, Warden directly asked parents in Leon County, Florida, to send him a private message if they need to provide a medical opt-out letter for their child. In another Facebook post, Warden stated that he is signing a form from Dove Field Health LLC, a limited liability company that is not affiliated with any hospital or group. Dove Field is Warden’s own company and was established on July 26. Florida State Department website.
Leon County has been resisting Governor Ron DeSantis’ order to ban wearing masks and requires students in grades K-8 to wear masks unless they have a medical reason. Although the Ministry of Education may withhold their funds, the school board still supports the requirement to wear masks with a 3 to 2 vote.
Last month, a surge in COVID-19 delta mutations across the state resulted in the death of two children in the county. Warden took action to provide parents with a mask exemption letter.One of the victims was less than 5 years old and the other was Third grade student Study at Canopy Oaks Elementary School in Tallahassee.
The doctor’s proposal has attracted the attention of many people on the Internet, and they strongly urged it to be removed. In response to the public outcry, Alan Kissy, chief executive of the Capital Region Medical Center, notified the board of directors to cancel Warden as their doctor.
“Everything we do acts with absolute integrity, and we expect the provider to behave in accordance with these values. After learning about the doctor’s behavior, we immediately began to remove him from the process of providing services to us. Hospitalized. Patient,” CRMC spokeswoman Rachel Stiles said in a statement Tallahassee Democratic Party.

Today, half of the 2.8 million public school students in Florida must wear masks in the classroom because the battle in court continues and DeSantis is fighting for parents to decide whether their children should wear masks.
