Izard After Sean Locke passed away at the age of 58, he paid tribute to Sean Locke’s “beautiful surrealist” comedy. He said: “His legacy will last forever.”
Eight stars of the 10 cats died in the company of their families after battling cancer, and mourning in the comedy world surged.
Comedian Izard told PA News Agency: “I think Sean Locke and I started comedy almost at the same time, so we are contemporaries.
“I did some weird, surreal things, but his stuff was very surreal, and I was a little jealous of what Sean could do because his thoughts were messed up.
“I don’t know if he has written, but he must have sat down and wrote something, but it will flash by and come up with such crazy images.
“He creates beautiful, surrealistic images, but he also goes to a dark or naughty place. This is something you would never think of, or what most viewers would never think of. I encourage people to go online–‘ Sean Lock’, put it on Google and check out his best parts on YouTube, you will see his work, especially in panel games, you can see that he is just improvising.
“He is improvising. He is going to this place. People are arguing and other comedians are falling. That’s how it is. You try to make other comedians laugh, and that’s what he can do. He can do it. Go where we didn’t expect anyone to go.”
Looking back at some of Locke’s best moments, Izard said: “He went to places we didn’t expect and could have gone, and he did it in a surprisingly expressionless way by Sean Locke.
“The place he went is crazy and beautiful. It’s a bit dark, but it’s very surreal. So his legacy will always be there. It’s a beautiful thing.”
Jon Richardson Together with Lock, he served as the captain of the countdown to 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out Of 10 Cats on Channel 4, and also paid tribute to the 15 Storeys High star.
Richardson wrote on Twitter: “I saw Sean as a comedian long before I became a comedian myself, and working with him for ten years has not reduced this. Incredible comedic brain and truly unique the sound of.”
In the second tweet, he wrote: “I feel sad for his family today, and also sad for the comedy we lost the best one. Undisputed, undefeated, carrot box champion. I will think he.”
comedian Jason Manford Said he texted the comedian “a few weeks” before his death on Wednesday.
He wrote on Twitter: “I feel very depressed about this. Very sad for his wife and children.
“One of the most interesting men I have ever worked with. I used to like to make him laugh occasionally in my first TV job. 8 out of 10 cats.
“I texted him a few weeks ago, and now I am glad I did.
“If you have a friend you haven’t contacted for a long time, leave a message and register for them. This may be the last time.”
Locke hosted Channel 4 of TV Heaven and TV Hell Twitter
The channel said: “It’s incredibly sad to understand the loss of one of our biggest comedians, Sean Lock.
“As a much-loved member of the C4 family, he has played an important role in the channel for more than 20 years, and we will miss him.
“Our hearts are with his family and friends.”
Comedian Bill Bailey paid tribute to his “dearest friend” on Twitter.
Bailey wrote on Twitter: “It is heartbreaking to lose my dearest friend Sean Rock. He is a true original creator, a wonderful comic.
“All my thoughts are with his family.”
Susie Dante She worked with Lock on the countdown to 8 cats. She said that she couldn’t describe the comedian after his death.
She tweeted: “I wish I could use words to describe this extraordinary person Sean Locke. But today I don’t have one. I think he might like that.”
Comedian Shappi Khorsandi said Lock is “everyone’s favorite” comedian.
She wrote: “Everyone’s favorite. There is no better comic. Cooperation is always exciting, and always so good.
“I extend my deepest condolences to all the family and friends of Sean Lock and everyone at Off The Kerb. What a huge and heartbreaking loss.”
The Q&A show QI is a frequent visitor to Lock, and he said that the comedian “helped to shape the show with his extremely sharp wit and anarchist humor.”
The show tweeted: “We are deeply saddened to hear that Sean Locke has passed away.
“Since the first season, Sean has been a frequent visitor to QI and helped shape the show with his extremely keen wit and anarchist humor.
“Our hearts are with his friends and family.”
Ricky Gervais described Locke as “one of the most interesting and influential comedians in a generation” and revealed that Locke gave him comedy advice early in his career.
Gervais said on Twitter: “The first professional comedian I know. I met him when I booked a show for him in the early 90s.
“Tell him I don’t mind becoming a comedian one day. I must have quit too much and tried to make him laugh because he said,’Then can I give you some advice?’ I said’Yes’. He said, ‘ Be quiet’.”
The meaningless host, Richard Osman, worked with Locke as the producer on the group show 8 Cats. He wrote on Twitter: “In 15 years, making ‘8 of 8 cats’ Sean · Locke makes me laugh so often.
“Unique and outstanding comedy voice.
“Love his family and many of his friends.”
Lock’s good friend Lee Mack also paid tribute to him, saying in a statement: “I know this day is coming for a while, but it’s also heartbreaking.
“Whether it is comedy or life, it is truly original.
“I will miss him very much.”
