For those who want their dogs to protect their families and property, the American Kennel Club (AKC) has collected breeds that are perfect for this role.
According to experts, this is the best guard dog.
1. Australian Shepherd

The Australian Shepherd is not only an extremely beautiful breed, but also an excellent guard dog. This breed is described by the AKC as a “thin, tough ranch dog” and is of medium size.
According to the AKC, these canines need to graze everything. They are smart, treat young children well, and are very wary-making them an excellent breed for families who want to keep an eye on their home.
2. Boseron

This Boseron Has the appearance of a classic guard dog: dark coat, upright, sensitive ears and muscular body.
These dogs are large, and according to the AKC, they are “especially loved by women as dashing but sensitive companions and protectors”.
The dog’s dark fur has red fox markings on the feet and mouth, so it has a charming nickname “Bas-Rouge”, which means “red stocking” in French.
3. Boxer

Like Rottweilers and boxers, Bullmastiffs have a terrible reputation as guard dogs.
These dogs are very alert and adaptable, and their stature and appearance are the result of breeding bulldogs and mastiffs together.
According to the AKC, the resulting breed is a dog whose appearance and personality “combined to demonstrate the wisdom, alertness and confidence that made Bullmastiff a world-class protector and family companion.”
6. Central Asian Shepherd Dog

The Central Asian Shepherd Dog is a well-known breed. They are considered to be the oldest known dog group in existence. The artifacts recording their existence have been discovered dating back 5,000 years.
Now, nomads use these majestic creatures as guard dogs. According to the AKC, they are “territorial guardians cultivated to protect the people and their property”.
“They seek the attention of humans, so they first establish contact with humans and then with the flock. They protect whatever is placed in the realm of their perception.”
7.Doberman

The Doberman is a powerful, loyal and fearless dog breed. According to the AKC, they are also very affectionate to young children.
These dogs are fast, compact, and have sleek, beautiful dark coats.
The AKC called this breed “one of the canine nobles” and commented that “this extremely fearless and vigilant breed proudly ranks among the best protected dogs in the world.”
8. German Shepherd

German Shepherd They are big and agile, and they are bread for herders. These dogs are nice to children, affectionate and very alert.
They are energetic, so they need a lot of walking and playing. According to AKC, they are very smart and possess noble character.
AKC said of this particular breed: “Their defining attributes are character: loyalty, courage, self-confidence, ability to learn many tasks and commands, and willingness to sacrifice their lives to protect their loved ones. The German Shepherd will become a gentle family. Pets and steadfast guardians.”
9. Staffordshire Bull Terrier

The Staffordshire Bulldog is short, but certainly not less. According to the AKC, they are compact, but muscular, brave and tenacious.
The faces of Staffordshire Bull Terriers are attracted to a nearly permanent smile, making them look sweet.
However, these dogs were bred to fight in the dogfighting grounds of England. They are good guard dogs, but the AKC said: “These are true blue loyal partners, but the old fighting instincts are still lurking in them. This allows the Stuffy puppies to interact with other dogs to learn good canine etiquette. It’s very important.”

Another ancient breed, the Tibetan Mastiff is a working dog with a thick, fluffy coat and was bred for the cold climate of Tibet.
Tibetan mastiffs are loyal and affectionate to close circles, but cold and indifferent to strangers, which makes them an excellent choice for guard dogs.
Despite their size and stature, Tibetan Mastiffs are still very agile. AKC said of this breed: “If you don’t rely on words like’strong’,’muscular’,’huge’ and’substantial’, it is impossible to discuss them. 11. Estrella Mountain Dog

The Estrella Mountain Dog is huge and furry. They look almost like bears, and their size and build are impressive.
They are affectionate and sociable, and they treat children very well. This species is named after the Estrela Mountains in Portugal and is one of the oldest species in the region.
According to the AKC, the Estrella Mountain Dog is “an inseparable partner of the shepherd and a loyal guardian of the herd, bravely protecting it from predators and thieves. This is an excellent farm and family Guard, this kind of dog doesn’t trust strangers, but is usually very docile to the owner.”
12. White Shepherd Dog

The Caucasian Shepherd is bred specifically as a guard dog. They are confident, brave and fearless in the face of threats—but they are loving and loyal to their families.
These dogs are traditionally used to protect property from animals and intruders. However, the AKC warned: “The Caucasian Shepherd is an important guard dog and must not be taken lightly.”
They are a powerful dog with strong instincts, but they love the people in their circle.
13. Cane Corso

The Cane Corso dog is a complete protector. Their ancestry can be traced back to Roman times, and their name even means “bodyguard dog” in Latin.
They have a majestic appearance, strong muscular body, large skeleton and square head and chin.
The AKC stated that these dogs are “smart, loyal, eager to please, versatile, very loyal to humans, but also very self-confident and willful, and may eventually have an owner without knowing it.”
14. Boolean

Boerboels are very kind to their owners, but they can also be fearless protectors.
These dogs are a type of mastiff and are the most agile in the mastiff family. Due to their strength and playfulness, these dogs are not recommended for novice owners.
AKC said: “The majestic Boerboel is committed to protecting the people and places they love.”
15.Akita

Akita has a thick coat and is an iconic breed in Japan. They are very alert, and very naughty and energetic.
These dogs like the company of humans. Although they are often wary of strangers, they can have fun with familiar people and dogs.
AKC said of the dog: “In their home country, they are revered as the protector of the family and a symbol of health, happiness and longevity.”
