The sudden decision to suspend the case saved Trump from allegations that he was sworn in to let Zervos engage in unnecessary kisses and fumbles after he sought career advice in 2007.
Zervos sued Trump in Manhattan’s New York State Court in January 2017, claiming that he called women’s such allegations a “lie” and reposted a post calling her claim to be a “scam,” thereby harming her reputation.
Trump also denied Zervos’ allegations of attack, saying it was politically motivated. Zervos appeared on Trump’s reality show in 2005.
“Multiple sclerosis. Zervos no longer wants to file a lawsuit against the defendant and has gained the right to freely talk about her experience,” her lawyers Beth Wilkinson and Moira Penza said in a joint statement. “Multiple sclerosis. Zervos supports the allegations in her complaint.”
Republican Trump has been seeking court permission to counterclaim Zervos for interfering with his right to freedom of speech, which he said is protected by New York law.
Zervos’ lawyers said the effort was to evade the court’s deadline to be deposed on December 23.
“Multiple sclerosis. Zervos made a prudent decision to voluntarily abandon her case without exchanging any compensation or attorney fees,” Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba said in an email. “She has no choice but to do this, because the facts unearthed in this matter clearly show that our client did nothing wrong.”
Wilkinson and Penza did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.
Trump said: “When things like this happen, it’s really sad, but fighting for truth and justice is very important.” “Only victory can we restore our reputation.”

Trump’s comments were included in a statement provided by the Political Action Committee that supported him to save the United States. The statement stated that Trump was “fully proven to be correct.”
The Zervos case remains unresolved, partly because Trump tried to stop various legal proceedings during his White House by arguing that the current president cannot be prosecuted.
After Democrat Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election and Trump became an ordinary citizen, this argument became meaningless.
The New York Supreme Court appeals court rejected Trump’s latest appeal in the Zervos case in March.
Other legal matters that have been postponed during Trump’s presidency include the ongoing investigation of the Trump family company, the Trump Organization, by the Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.
Trump denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by several women.
One is E. Jean Carroll, a former Elle magazine columnist. In the mid-1990s, Trump denied that he raped her in a Manhattan department store. He also sued Trump for defamation.
Trump has asked the Federal Court of Appeals in Manhattan to let him replace the U.S. government as a defendant, basically to protect him from personal liability, because he has talked about Carol as president.
The oral debate is scheduled for December 3. The Biden administration basically adopted Trump’s position while describing his statement questioning Carroll’s credibility as “rude and disrespectful.”
Carol’s lawyer Julie Fink said in an email that her client “has no intention” to abandon the lawsuit.
