Officials said on Sunday that a former US military sniper shot wildly in central Florida, killing four people, including a baby boy in his mother’s arms.
The suspect is Bryan Riley, 33, who shot and killed a 40-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman and her 3-month-old son in a residential area in Polk County, Florida. County Sheriff Grady Judd.

The fourth victim was the 62-year-old grandmother of the child.
Judd said that Riley, wearing a full-length armor, also injured an 11-year-old girl, and then surrendered to the police after a fierce gunfight.
Riley is a veteran of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. He told the police that he is a “survivalist” and that he has been taking methamphetamine.
According to a statement by Judd on social media, the suspect also told the police, but did not elaborate: “You know why I did this.”
Riley was injured in the shootout and was rushed to a local hospital, where he tried to attack the police again and had to receive sedative treatment.
After receiving medical help, the suspect was transferred to a local prison.
Judd said that it is not yet clear what triggered the attack.
