Fulham: Man detained for “contaminating food with syringes” in a London supermarket

Man arrested on suspicion of contaminating food with syringes in three western supermarkets London.

Metropolitan Police said that according to reports, a man called the police to Fulham Palace Rd (Fulham Palace Rd) at 7:40 pm after insulting others on the street.

He is said to have been to three supermarkets and injected food with many syringes.

They are Little Waitrose, 201-207 Fulham Palace Road; Sainsbury’s Local, 179-183 Fulham Palace Road and Tesco Express, 168-188 Fulham Place Road.

The man has been detained by the police on charges of attempting to cause public harm or anxiety.

The supermarket is closed and the crime scene is in place.

According to the city council, the affected items are believed to be processed meat and microwave oven products.

It is not clear how many items were contaminated or what substances were contaminated.

Hammersmith and Fulham City Council posted an “emergency alert” notice on their social media accounts on Wednesday night.

It said: “As a precaution, the public is advised to dispose of any food purchased from these supermarkets tonight.

“The environmental health team of the H&F Committee is working with the affected supermarket branches.”
