The British High Commission in Canada said in a statement that the British government is taking a “phased approach” to relax COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The committee said: “Ensuring safe and open travel is a top priority. We are working with international partners on certification matters to ensure that vaccinated people will not be hindered in future travel.”
British Transport Minister Grant Shaps said that the new measures are designed to help family members visit each other and help businesses benefit from trade growth.

Scottish Transport Minister Michael Matheson said in a statement that these changes are possible due to the success of vaccination programs in Scotland, the European Union and the United States.
He said: “With the significant relaxation of international travel measures, fully vaccinated travelers will be able to travel to Scotland, providing a boost for tourism and the wider economy, while ensuring that public health is protected.”
These countries stated that the quarantine regulations will still apply to entrants who have been to France in the past 10 days, and Scotland expressed concern about the spread of Beta COVID-19 variants.
In Vancouver, Deputy Prime Minister Christia Freeland was asked about the decisions of these countries on Wednesday, and she said she respected these decisions.
