Maxwell The prosecutor said she held herself in a video conference room in the prison with a cart of legal documents.
Since his arrest in July 2020, the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend Maxwell has been awaiting trial in jail.
The 59-year-old man was accused of recruiting four girls for Epstein between 1994 and 2004.
Maxwell denies these allegations.
Since she was imprisoned, the British lady’s lawyer has complained about the “hard” conditions she suffered in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.
They claimed that her cell was full of untreated sewage and rodent feces, and said that every 15 minutes every night she would be awakened by a beam of light from the guard in her eyes.
Maxwell also posted a photo of her dark circles under her eyes, suggesting that she had also been beaten in prison.

The prosecutor said Maxwell Has been allowed to “bring a cart full of legal materials into the VTC Room Meeting”, but she “used that trolley to set up a barricade on the door of the room to prevent prison staff from entering the room”.
Audrey Strauss added: “Due to the security threat posed by the use of a cart to block the door of the VTC room, the defendant is no longer allowed to bring the cart into the room.”
She said Maxwell could “carry any materials she can bring into the room” and could travel multiple times to collect more documents.
Maxwell’s lawyer Bobbi Sternheim defended her client by stating that the state “cannot resist the opportunity to put Ghislaine Maxwell (Ghislaine Maxwell) in a negative influence while defending the Metropolitan Detention Center at all costs, regardless of the facts.”
“The cart has never been used to set up roadblocks.
“The government has chosen to take this issue-when it never has been-to justify the limit on the amount of legal material that Ms. Maxwell can bring into the VTC room on any given day.”
Previously, Maxwell’s bail application was blocked by a judge for the fifth time after she considered her “risk of escape”.
Maxwell’s lawyer for appeal, David Oscar Marcus, said in an email that his client “faces more severe conditions than any other prisoner” because of concerns that she might commit suicide.
He called the facility a “complete disaster” and stated that Maxwell was unable to adequately prepare for the trial in the facility that was awakened every 15 minutes at night when her cell was illuminated by guards to inspect her.
Epstein committed suicide in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking.
“We all know the truth-this is due to the Epstein effect. Because Epstein died under the supervision of the prison, it decided to torture Gislain. This is wrong,” Marcus said.
Maxwell pleaded not guilty to all charges and will be tried in November.
