Gone are the days of confusing drafts and experiments in Google Ads.
Google has made a much-needed update to this beta feature in the online interface, and the new experience is a welcome change for both beginners and experienced Google Ads users.
Due to the complexity and multiple steps, previous draft and experiment pages were considered a hindrance for novice Google Ads users.
Let’s take a look at the exciting new changes.
New experiment page
In the previous experience, you first created a draft campaign and then tested it individually in an experiment.
Confusing, right?
With the new experiment update, you can now create experiments (or tests) in one step. That means no more creating a draft first!
What is a draft you might ask?
A draft is a way for you to propose changes to a search or display campaign and then apply them to a new campaign. It basically mirrors your existing campaign settings, but with only minor changes you want to test or experiment with.
Additionally, you can now monitor all tests on the Experiments page. On this page, you can apply any experimental changes with one click.
This change in the application process helps avoid any implementation issues on the user side.

Google has also introduced a new way to sync experiments to campaigns. This change makes it easier for you to run experiments.
Before this new and improved rollout, copying changes from the original campaign was a manual process, not to mention time-consuming for users.
So, what has changed in the new experience?
Google Ads will automatically sync any changes in the experiment to the original campaign being tested.

While the user’s experiment settings have changed, not all features are available.
For example, you can still set the length of your experiment and how much of your raw traffic budget you want to spend on testing.
How to Improve Your Advertising Campaign
The new Google Ads Experiment brings many benefits to users, including:
- Save time creating experiments
- better transparency of results
- Easier creation and synchronization of changes to existing activities during the testing phase
- Less room for implementation errors
The improvements introduced this time around are a domino effect.
With this exciting new interface, you’ll be able to easily see what you’re testing. Thanks to the new sync experience, you can adapt to any activity fluctuations in real time to improve your activity during the beta phase.
With easy monitoring on the Experiments page, you can clearly announce the winner of any experiment and apply all changes in seconds.
These improvements to the user experience can increase your testing capabilities and enable you to run more tests, sometimes faster. You’ll be able to spend more time analyzing and less time manually creating or drafting experiences.
Try out the new Google Ads experiment page today and feel more confident in your experiment results.
