Sources said that after the Taliban took over, Google locked some email accounts belonging to the Afghan government Reuters.

In a statement to Reuters, Google did not clearly confirm that they had locked certain accounts, but stated that they are “taking temporary actions to protect the security of the relevant accounts” because they are monitoring the situation in Afghanistan.

The source who told Reuters about the locked account was a former government employee. He said that the Taliban told him last month to save the data on its agency’s servers.
