Google has announced new digital marketing and e-commerce career certificates to help job seekers and employers gain the skills they need to succeed in online businesses.
The new certificate is recognized by the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A) and the American Advertising Alliance (AAF).
In addition, Google is promising up to 500 Google Career Credentials scholarships to every U.S. business to help upskill employees.

Google Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Career Certificate
Google’s new certificate program will train job seekers how to find customers online, sell products or services, and conduct marketing analysis and measurement.
Google’s Certificate in Digital Marketing and Ecommerce will provide hands-on experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including:
- canvas
- continuous contact
- kit
- center point
- Mail Chimpanzee
- Shopify
- Google Ads
- Google Analytics
As with all of Google’s career certificates, those earning the certificate can help them find jobs through an employers’ alliance of more than 150 companies. Certificate holders for relevant entry-level jobs are considered by all companies.
What is a Google Career Certificate?

Available on Coursera, Google reports that more than 70,000 people in the US have graduated from the program.
Additionally, 75% of graduates said the certificate had a positive career impact within six months of completion, such as a new job, a higher salary or a promotion.
Google Career Certificates are available in areas such as data analytics, IT support, project management, user experience (UX) design, and now e-commerce and digital marketing.
Certificate of Enrollment programs do not require a degree or experience and can be completed within three to six months of part-time study.
