- sesame oil – Although optional, I recommend adding it at the end for extra flavor. It adds depth and complexity and also helps bring out the sweetness of the other ingredients.

- Combine ingredients. in a small pan, brush Combine coconut aminos, honey, apple cider vinegar, molasses, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
- Reduce thickening. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce has reached your desired consistency.


Tip: This quick teriyaki sauce will thicken as it cools, so turn off the heat when it’s a little thinner than you’d like.
If you cook it short it will reach the right consistency when it cools, or if you cook it longer it will get to the right thickness almost immediately but firm up as it cools. You can dilute with cold water if desired.

- shop: Let the homemade teriyaki sauce cool completely, then store in an airtight container, such as a glass jar, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It hardens in the fridge, so just reheat it to make it sticky and pourable again.
- freeze: Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating on the stove or in the microwave.

Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to a simmer 8-10 minutes if you are serving at room temperature, or 15-20 minutes if you are hot. The sauce will thicken as it cools so if you cook it shorter it will reach the right consistency after cooling or if you cook it longer it will get to the right consistency almost right away but it will turn out as it cools hard.
